Disclosure

All content on this blog is generated by me, with the exception of certain images used for explanatory or illustrative purposes (e.g. promotional images generated by brands for advertising purposes included in a post to highlight a brand's claims).

I clearly state the sources of all items in all posts. I also clearly state whether all items in the post were purchased by me or provided for review. If I have any affiliation with any shops, I clearly state so in my review, as well.

I do not write "advertorials" or similar posts. I do not write biased reviews and every post on this blog represents my honest opinion. If an item is provided to me at free or reduced price in exchange for a review, I will clearly state this in my blog post.

I do not use photo editing programs to alter my appearance or misrepresent products. I use photo editing software, but primarily for obvious illustrative purposes on my photos (e.g. to add a watermark that clearly could not have been in the original photo). I occasionally use it to adjust lighting and color, but I do this to provide a more accurate idea of the actual color of a product- the bad lighting in my apartment sometimes makes for inaccurate lighting for my photos. When possible, though, I try to take photos in natural light to avoid having to make these edits.

I have basic scientific training but I am no expert- especially when it comes to skincare (otherwise, trust me- I wouldn't have suffered through twelve years of painful cystic acne). I provide my opinion on products and back it up with the scientific opinion of actual experts when available! If I don't know something, I try to be open about it and point to other, better sources of information.

To provide the best, most honest reviews possible, I try to use products numerous times before passing judgment. Obviously, this doesn't apply for products I have a severe negative reaction to- I'm not going to put my skin in danger merely for the sake of a review! Nor does it apply to one-time-use items like masks that are meant to provide a quick effect, rather than create an observable lasting effect. Other than that, I try to test makeup products for at least a couple of days in my standard office environment before writing a review. I try to test skin products for a minimum of two weeks to fully observe their effects.

Honesty and clarity is of the utmost importance to me. If you have any questions or concerns about any post, please do not hesitate to contact me via the comments or my contact page.
